Arrive at Bovey Castle for a host of festive activities including a visit to our Long Barn for cider and sloe gin making, then join us for afternoon tea with carols from our local choir. Your first evening includes a drinks reception and five-course dinner, accompanied by our house pianist. Awake on Christmas Day to a traditional breakfast followed by a visit from Father Christmas with gifts for our younger guests. Then why not enjoy the fresh air and beautiful scenery on the estate with our brass rubbing trail. The revelry begins with a drinks reception followed by a fabulous Christmas Day lunch in the Great Western accompanied by a harpist. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without the King’s speech which will be shown in our lounges with coffee and mince pies. An informal buffet supper will be served in the evening then take the opportunity to retire to the Oak Bar for a Cognac or two.
Following breakfast, sign up for the golf tournament, join us for a guided walk or take part in our treasure hunt around the Castle and grounds. In the afternoon our much-loved ferret racing is a firm favourite, as is our ‘nearest the pin’ golf competition on the South Terrace, served with hot chocolate or mulled wine. Family activities are available to enjoy all day. A savoury and sweet afternoon tea will be served in our lounges throughout the afternoon with entertainment. Enjoy the finale of the day with a cocktail reception and five-course dinner in the Great Western (dress code – cocktail wear) followed by a live band and dancing.

Arrive on New Year’s Eve for a fabulous afternoon tea served in one of our beautiful lounges whilst listening to the tranquil sound of our harpist. Relax into your room before dressing and joining us for our black-tie celebrations. The festivities begin with a Champagne cocktail and canapé reception, and a traditional piper calling you through to your six course gala dinner. Dance the night away to our live band before toasting in the New Year with a glass of Champagne whilst watching and a fantastic firework display from our South Terrace.
After the previous night’s revelry enjoy a leisurely brunch. Blow away the cobwebs on a guided walk, partake in a treasure hunt around the castle and estate or take part in our golf tournament. Our superb self-catering estate Lodges offer you the ideal space to relax and celebrate with friends and family.
